What is Nine Circles?
A dystopian-future sci-fi story based on Dante's Inferno. The year is 2039. Democracy no longer exists in America. After waking up with no memory amongst a sea of massacred people, a woman named Vessel must rediscover the world anew and piece her mind back together, all whilst a hacker known as Nine attempts to guide her through a harrowing mission, to infiltrate and uncover the wretched secrets of "The Circles," nine prisons that US citizens are sent to for crimes of a certain nature, sent to never return from, sent to suffer the sickest punishments imaginable.

What do you need to know about Nine Circles?
Nine Circles is DARK, BLEAK AND DISTRESSING. The synopsis depicts violence, sexual abuse and mistreatment. Read with caution!
This is a plot synopsis rather than a script or finished product. A synopsis was as far as I got with this incredibly deep project, but there's enough detail available to outline the scope of Nine Circles.
I wrote this story to unload all my deepest fears about where society could head if we as a people make ALL the wrong decisions, and my fears about death, suffering, abduction, torture, the many ways to implement these things and the ways that power can allow one to bring these things about.
By 2012, I had written The Lost Sorceress and Filth. I wanted to step up my ambition and write something that could outdo the film Se7en in terms of dramatic impact and the depth of it's horror, or the comic Watchmen in terms of reflecting and deconstructing modern anxieties via a cool, comicky premise.
At the same time, I wanted to retell Dante's Inferno in a way that A: carried more weight in the 21st Century and B: didn't feature a protagonist who championed what he saw of Hell, rather a protagonist who would be utterly disgusted and frightened by what she saw of Hell.
I didn't write Nine Circles for any medium in particular. It can be presented as a movie, comic book, television series, stage show, game, radio play, any medium in general.
